Yep

Thi is exactly right, too. Those things are mass voted through the portal and then their scores sink like stones as the rest of NG votes them where they should be.

Then they end up with turd of the week.

People who submit like that should get their IP addresses banned for spamming the portal.

KKyuubi responds:

Also, only YOU can prevent bad entries from reaching the portal, see that button with a sad Pico and the number 0 on it? Use it!

Godo Job!

This was an extremely aggresive shot at Flash animation. The story was long, there was a lot you had to do yourself aside form sprites.

I feel that there is some work left to be done for Part 2, though. Like the way the captions are done. There's definiely a better way with the words on the bottom of the screen in a black box. Also when tweening in and out at times you stetched things wide, then tall so it was kind of a rubberband effect.

The virus had a cool effect. I love the feel of when the guy with the hands was talking and it zoomed out to the HUGE VIRUS area. What a cool effect that was!

Best of luck on part 2. you got my 5/5 with this just because of the storyline.

Veneox responds:

Thank you.

Awesome First Flash!

A definite thumbs-up from me! If this is a first Flash, I can't be much more impressed.

It's obvious you put tons of work into this. You added sound FX, you had music going in the background, you even worked the camera pretty well.

I will say that you need to get your scene transitions down a little better. Sometimes there was a white flash in between. Just count your frames and make sure there are none empty in between sequences.

Very good first Flash. I gave it a 4/5! Awesome job!

Peckham responds:

yeah, maybe using the masking technique would have been good, and, the white flash was ment X3 it was suppose to be suspense lol

Fix It

You need to learn how to condense your sound. Condense it, then replace the file. It should only be like 800 kb.

Ramirezoid responds:

once again, i forgot to stream.

Cool

That was actually very good.

The song was just getting going, so it really feels like there should be more.

Add to it, make it around the same length as the song and you're going to get a very high score!

Great what you had, though.

Good luck!

yoyoman92 responds:

Thanks for the advice! I'll try as hard as I can to make it more lengthy. I don't know if I can make it as long as the song, but it's worth a try.

EPIC

HAHA! That was a funny story. All told with but one picture. Amazing.

And as for you being surprised it passed, I think it had to be the music. You see, you used the music from "Oh, Savior!" so you subconsciously made people hit a passing score.

Genius.

SlashFirestorm responds:

Heh, yeah. It's funny...I've put much more effort into flash that's been blammed...and yet this, which I whipped together in an hour (a good chunk of which was merely finding the music), passes.

The music CERTAINLY was the big factor. I did original intend to use the short version of "Escape", aka "The Savior Song", but I found the longer one first, and it's much more grandiose...

Let this be a lesson to all beginner flash artists like me: never underestimate the importance of good sound!

Thanks for the review! ^_^

Really Great!

This was pretty damn funny, man! And you gotta' love the RvB reference!

Ah, but you want feedback. Hmmm... here you go.

Graphics: They were really well-drawn. I like the style. They had that bitmap issue, though, so I'm guessing they were imported? I don't know the proper term, but at times with the backgrounds and characters the graphics looked a little screwy. Kind of like when you save a JPG as a GIF in paint, but not as bad. Still, it was good and not distracting (except when it was on that guy's nose).

Style: I like your style. The eyes have great expression. It also has a fun feel to it which makes it that much better to watch. The different ways you went from scene to scene were funny too. Gotta love the bra flying at the screen!

Sound: The sounds were great. Clean sounding speach, good use of FX and music.

Violence: N/A

Interactivity: Play button. 2/10

Humor: Pretty damn funny. Good style of humor. Great interaction with characters and characters with each other made for good punchlines and believeable comedy. 9/10.

Overall: A really great animation. Portal Award wrthy, for sure. 10/10!

Now, take a week off from animating! Go see the outdoors and breath the clean air.

Antrock responds:

That's the best thing I've heard all day. I will.

Cool

That was a pretty well-one movie. But as for the content. Erm... the xB. There' sno way that thing would even come close to a Caddy. Hehe. It's a box that's on wheels. I test drove one and ran away.

The tC would stand a chance. If any Scion you should have gone with that.

Anyway, I like the whole story. The blur effect at the end really boggs down a computer. Me putting quality to low let me see you tweensed it as it WAS skipping. If you do effects like that that are relatively simple, just take the opacity down on a few copied symbols and it won' tbog down like that. It will be far more smooth.

The opening credits were really cool, though. that's when to use effects like that.

3/5.

biofusion responds:

Yeah I realized I over did that blur effect...it even lags on my computer. The version I was working on that got lost had a shorter slo-mo scene, and it was much smoother. Also I realize that the xB possibly has no shot in beating that Cadillac, however it was greatly upgraded ;). The xB was supposed to lose the last race, if that makes you feel any better =D

Very Good

I liked this quite a bit, man. When Bill Cosby did his laugh, I lost it. SO FUNNY!!!

I like the style of animation you used. It fit well with what you were doing.

Great job. I look forward to more. 4/5

IceSage responds:

I love Bill Cosby's signature laugh. It's always like he's having a mini heartattack or something, especially how he rolls his eyes.

There's a Bill Cosby easter egg in the episode if you didn't find it already.

Thanks for the review!

Hard to Hear

It was hard to understand Foamy. There was some sort of echo in the way you made his voice. AND it was quiet, so when the gun went off it was way too loud.

And due to the bad quality I couldn't even tell if it was funny. 0/5

biohazard-moon responds:

yeah, i know that the sound was very low, and had bad quality, but it was what i could do, deal with it

Dude, where's my Flash?
