Road trippin'

"Pretty Good"

submission: Road trippin'
date: May 12, 2008

Well, it was entertaining and you had some decent, but pretty simple animation in here.

I wasn't a huge fan of the song and the actual video, especially near the end seemed to get slow and drag out. Maybe if you did a few more things during the guitar solo and at th every end added a few scenes or something. It just ended up watching you practice lip syncing near the end and that got a bit boring.

Your lip sync was good, though. That's important. You did a great hob with it. You also had some cool scenes.

Overall good job. I went 4/5 on this one.

Thanks! I was really struggling at the solo and at the end indeed-It's hard to find something you can do there...

David's Adventures Eps 6

"Odd and Funny"

date: May 11, 2008

Well, I can't recall ever seeing the other episodes, but I enjoyed this one. The action was entertaining and you kept it funny with David's antics.

The voice was weird, but fitting in a humor setting and the fact that he is fighting and killing Sesame Street characters is freaking funny.

I also stuck around thru the credits and that Cookie Monster piece was funny. I had a feeling something would await me at the end of the credits.

"Awesome as Always"

submission: Primal War 17

Well, this was freaking terrific YET again!

The use of probably the best audio artist on NG didn't hurt you either. Earthbones by bosa was a great choice. I only wish you cranked it up a bit more. >=)

Your graphical representation of animals with human qualities is unmatched. The action was excellent and the animation was very good as well.

I don't get tired of these.

An Interview Thing

"Funny Stuff"

submission: An Interview Thing
date: May 10, 2008

I liked this a lot. It had me laughing and the animation, though sticks, was very good.

The expression you put into them was very good especially at the end when he talked about how he did the movie because he hated his ex-wife.

The movie clip that was full of color and had the guy wearing a hat was actually pretty awesome. I kinda wish you'd make that movie now. hehe.

Good job!

submission: Casper & Spooky 11

The triumphant return of C&S!

I see the YLTM spiders made their triumphant return as well.

This was great. The Casper repeating things was... odd. But the rest was awesome.

Good to see you back in the game!

Bad Baby

"Slick Madness"

submission: Bad Baby
date: May 9, 2008

It seems like a lot of people didn't like it because it 'had no point,' but in all honesty I feel it does. Basically it is a vision of madness and I think you pulled it off.

You mastered using repeated Movie Clips in this and still keeping the animation fresh. Your graphical representation is so great in this. It had a real, classic cartoon feel bordering on eerie.

The sound you used were great mood-setters. That odd laughing/cackling that went on was weird but fitting.

Great job. I am entertained.

2 - The Story of Khale

"Looks Good"

date: May 9, 2008

I mean, this took forever to get here after the 1st episode was released many, many months ago. I was expecting a bit more from it, to be honest.

I will say, that the world you've created is quite good and it seems like you put a ton of thought into creating it. It's quite intuitive and interesting.

On the other hand, the voices used do not match the characters and I feel it throws the whole feel of the movie off balance.

Good movie though. Deserving of a 9.

"Holy Shit"

submission: After
date: May 8, 2008

Dude, this was great. I have no idea how you make the fog/mist so well. Whenever I do it, I use blur and it bogs everything down. Makes me a sad panda.

In any case, in this the graphics you used were great. Totally great. But the theme you stuck with, all dark like that and dead with bugs and rats, was so well-done. The music choice is obviously great. NIN fits perfectly with darkness like this.

Good luck with the dailys!

Author's Response:

Hey, thanks for the comment!

Since Adobe bought out Macromedia, they've updated Flash so that you can import photoshop layers, with transparency and all. So all I had to do to achieve the fog is to paint some clouds in photoshop with a brush on about 10 - 25% opacity, and then import the .PSD file into Flash. Hope that helps for your future projects!

"Great"

submission: Stratosphere
date: May 4, 2008

You did a good job with this movie and I liked the music. The animation was almost 100% tweens, but I'm not one to complain if it does the trick and in this movie, it does.

The story was done well using a song and you used some key transitions i nthe song well to make changes in the movie so you timed it well.

Good job, keep it up.
